The final edition of the PAPIRUS project newsletter has been released, looking back at the progress made over the three years of the project. The PAPIRUS project aims to promote, implement and validate innovative solutions that help European cities to embrace sustainable construction.
One of the project goals was the introduction of a new public procurement process focused on providing nearly zero energy materials for the repair and construction of buildings. An evaluation of the challenges and an overview of the lessons learned in designing this new process are included in the newsletter. A link to the PAPIRUS e-learning course, which provides information on procuring innovation, is also available.
The guidance document How to implement Public Procurement of Innovation – Lessons learned from the PAPIRUS project can also be accessed from the newsletter in English, Italian, Spanish, German and Polish. The guide includes an explanation of public procurement of innovation, the benefits it brings, implementation rules and steps to take.
